Our Foundation Has Always Been the Members We Serve

Formed in 1988, the Reprographic Services Association (RSA) is a North American network of over 84 companies with more than 175 locations. As independently owned and operated businesses, RSA affiliates represent the true embodiment of the entrepreneurial enterprise. RSA shareholders are located in geographical markets of all sizes and provide goods and services to a vast array of customers in Architectural, Engineering, Construction, Mining, Energy, Advertising, Surveying, Mapping, Legal and other varied businesses as well as other various industries.

Formed and governed according to the rules of Cooperative (Co-op) law, each affiliate is a shareholder with equal ownership and voting privileges to other members of the association. As a cooperative, the RSA is motivated not by profit, but by the driving commitment to provide services to meet members’ needs and aid them in offering affordable, high quality goods and services to their clients. The RSA also provides continuing education to members on important issues and business trends affecting their businesses and those of their customers. Regardless of the size of the business or the dynamics of their marketplace, each RSA member enjoy equally in the benefits RSA provides while maintaining the cherished values inherent in being an independently owned business.

At the core of the RSA are trusted vendor partnerships that have been cultivated throughout the years with leading industry suppliers of hardware, consumable supplies and technology. RSA affiliates, regardless of their size or the demographic footprint of their market, benefit from the national contracts negotiated with these vendors on their behalf by the RSA.

Dividends from the valued partner status the RSA enjoys with its vendors extends beyond a negotiated best price plan. The RSA, in the spirit of cooperation to develop new products for the market, has successfully leveraged its vendor relationships to bring new products and solutions to market. For instance, the PlanCommand Family of proven performers provides scalable online Project Information Management (PIM) solutions to securely and effectively manage construction document assets and project communications demanded by today’s construction teams. Through the Construction Specification Institute (CSI) Corporate Partner Program, member companies have benefited from the Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certified training. In recent years the changing landscape of Project Management Information needs has driven our technology development to a new industry standard.

The changing landscape of the Reprographic Industry in the past few years has necessitated that reprographers revamp their strategies to market; add new product and service offerings to their portfolio, revise business plans, cope with a new breed of competition, seek new markets of opportunity, update pricing models, and react to shrinking revenue and margin opportunities. RSA affiliates, although fighting the same battles and facing similar challenges, enjoy the benefits of their RSA membership and diversity of talent and intellectual assets available within the Association. In times when answers do not come easily or a different perspective is appreciated, it is imperative to have different perspectives and resources to draw upon to assist in running a profitable business.
